I am battling to give this beach the first or my 2nd best beach in Guadeloupe. Definitely need few more trip to both St. Anne beach and Plage de L'Anse du Souffler in Port-Louis to decided.
Port-Louis is not far from Lamentin and closer than St. Anne. We were amazed by the turquoise color of the ocean when we turned the first corner heading to the beach. We are not really sure at first if we heading the right away just by following the signboard. There's few area along the beach which people hangout and thats enough to create the confusion. Nico check his guide book and after arriving at the beach with cemetery right on it we can be sure that we finally there.
I was a little bit disappointed when we arrived and keep on telling Nico that we might be at the wrong place since it didn't look as nice as the previous area we saw on the way. As if the ocean heard my complaint, he asked the sun to switch on the light and voila, the beautiful turquoise water appeared.
The great thing about this beach is, less people, a lot of tree to take cover, water is clean from seaweed and the view is amazing, seriously amazing. By late afternoon, if you stay long at the beach, you need to be aware of yen-yen. I dont know what they called this thing in english and if yen-yen is even english word. Its a small insect that bites and left you itchy. Its itch as bad as mosquito bites or maybe more. This yen-yen thingy is not only at port-louis but everywhere in guadeloupe especially when u stay under the tree (other than coconut tree). Its somehow came out at late afternoon to remind you that its time to go home hahahhaha
what do you think? Yay or nay?
